Unity, now valued at $6B, raising up to $525M
Unity’ s private valuation is rising, but it’ s growing not clear whether the company’ s leadership will be planning to take the 15-year-old gaming giant public anytime soon. The company announced today which is has received signed agreements through D1 Capital Partners, Canada Monthly pension Plan Investment Board, Light Road Capital, Sequoia Capital and Sterling silver Lake Partners to fund a $525 million tender offer that will allow Unity’ s common shareholders — nearly all which are early or current workers — to sell their shares within the company. The tender offer gives workers “ the opportunity for some liquidity, ” Unity CFO Kim Jabal states.
