Image: sony santa monica STUDIO In the years after its launch in the mid 2000s, the original God of War trilogy became a symbol intended for everything wrong with video games: nasty violence, nonsensical and overwrought storytelling, angry hypermasculinity, nauseating male energy fantasies, the exploitation of women, or use the dreaded quick-time event.
